Nsumbu National Park covers just over 2,000 square kilometres on the south-western shore of Lake Tanganyika, and takes in around 100 kilometres of pristine shoreline — sandy beaches, cliffs, rocky coves and sheltered bays. The Lufubu River runs through it to the lake.

Game includes roan, sable, eland, buffalo and zebra, with blue duiker and the semi-aquatic sitatunga in the wetter ground. The combination of park and lake is unusual: a morning drive and an afternoon on the water are both on offer from the same base.
