Lusaka National Park lies roughly 30 kilometres from Zambia’s capital and opened in June 2015, making it the country’s newest and most accessible park. Established in 2011 and covering 67.15km², it is the twentieth national park in Zambia and only the second to be established in a city environment.

The park holds over 1,000 species, among them white rhino, giraffe, eland, hartebeest, zebra, sable, kudu, blue wildebeest, waterbuck, black lechwe, impala, puku, bushbuck, reedbuck, warthog and pangolin. Visitors can camp, walk, cycle the bicycle trails, take a boat, watch birds or picnic. The park is reached southeast of the city on Leopards Hill Road.
