The Railway Museum in Livingstone holds some of the finest examples of Zambia’s railway heritage, ranging from historic steam locomotives and vintage coaches to the tiniest railway memorabilia.

It is one of several museums in a town whose history belongs to the railway age. Livingstone was established in 1905, served as the capital of Northern Rhodesia from 1911 until 1935, and preserved Edwardian buildings still stand along its main thoroughfare.
